We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the Cincinnati ISSA chapter, and introduce you all to the new board! In 2010 Cincinnati ISSA is planning on providing monthly meetings that are current, provide opportunities for networking, and allow security practitioners to acquire the knowledge that can help them be more effective.
 
There are some new changes that we have incorporated with this year’s chapter. 

 
First, we have decided to schedule our meetings around breakfast instead of dinner. We hope this time will allow our members to attend our sessions without having to infringe upon personal or family time.

 Secondly, we have added some board members, and changed some of the roles.

Greg, Jim, and Terry are all new editions to our board. Here are their bio’s:
Greg Press has over 22 years of experience in computer systems, information security, and project management. Greg is the Director of IT Risk and Security Management for American Modern Insurance Companies a subsidiary of Munich Re Group headquartered in Munich Germany.  Greg served for over 14 years in the U.S. Air Force and worked for the Army in various communications and legal areas.  Greg also led a regional security practice for a global firm. He has extensive knowledge in IT, Physical and Technical Security and IT Governance.  Greg has consulted with numerous Fortune 1000 companies in the areas of information systems, audit, governance and Internet Security.  Greg also has extensive educational experience.  He has taught as an adjunct professor at several Universities in the areas of Computer Science and Management.

Jim Miller is an Information Security Analyst for a local, federally sponsored bank. He previously worked as an Information Security Analyst for Fifth Third Bank. His areas of expertise include Vulnerability Management, IDS/IPS, Antivirus and Event Monitoring & Correlation. He possesses the CISSP and CISA certifications among others.
 
Terry Weatherholt is currently the Regional Sales Director for the Ohio Valley at data security leader, Imperva; protecting web applications and sensitive data for businesses needing to protect sensitive data and/or meet compliance requirements for PCI, HIPAA, SOX, etc..  Prior to Imperva, Terry spent twenty plus years in the computer networking industry with companies such as Riverbed, Extreme Networks, 3Com and Chipcom.
 
Finally, we want to hear from you, our members and the Cincinnati security community, about what topics you would like to learn more about and/or discuss during our meetings. Below is a list we have put together as potential meeting topics – please let us know what you think about these topics, and please add some as well.
